I was born in a country that no longer exists. In a place that contains a staggeringly diverse collection of ethnicities, where Western and Eastern Europe meet the Middle East. Each of these worlds forms a part of my identity. I was 15 years old when war broke out and crushed not only my early creative aspirations, but also the entire country. After several years of self-searching in the newborn country of Croatia, I decided to widen my perspectives by moving abroad. My first stop was the UK but shortly after that my path brought me to Germany, where I became deeply intrigued by Existentialism. Having obtained my master's degree in philosophy as well as a graduate degree in art, I dedicated myself to teaching. Nevertheless, I never stopped painting, yet my art was very private to me at that time.
After moving to Australia to undertake vocational teacher training, a transformative phase unfolded. It was there that I discovered the therapeutic potential of creative expression, making me question my life in Germany and setting me on a course to metamorphose my way of living. This pivotal realization galvanized my commitment to become a certified art therapist accredited by IPHM, CMA, and CPD.
At present, I live and work in picturesque Spain, and the dream of dedicating more time to practicing art therapy, painting, and exhibiting more of my artwork finally came true.
